Bard spells apply unique status effects to allies and enemies. These effects are synchronized across multiplayer and can stack for increased potency.

Effect mechanics

All Bard status effects are marked as synchronized, meaning they properly display and function in multiplayer environments. Effects can stack multiple times based on spell power.

Stacking system

Bard effects use an amplifier cap system:
  • Base amplifier is determined by the spell
  • Maximum stacks scale with Healing spell power
  • Each stack increases the effect’s potency
  • Stacks refresh duration when reapplied

Beneficial effects

These effects benefit the target, typically allies or the caster.

Maximizing effect stacks

1

Increase Healing spell power

Equip weapons and armor that boost Healing spell power. Effects like Ballad and Troubadour’s Minuet use Healing school for their buff components.
2

Reapply before expiration

Stack refreshes when reapplied. Time your spell casts to maintain maximum stacks throughout combat.
3

Focus on one effect

With proper timing, you can maintain high stacks of a single effect by repeatedly casting the same spell.
4

Coordinate with allies

Multiple Bards can stack the same effects. Coordinate to keep permanent uptime on key buffs.
The amplifier cap multiplier determines how many additional stacks you can gain beyond the base maximum. With 0.15× scaling, every 6.67 points of spell power grants +1 max stack.

Effect interactions

Multiplicative stacking

All Bard effects use multiplicative bonuses (ADD_MULTIPLIED_BASE operation). This means:
  • Effects stack multiplicatively with base stats
  • Multiple different effects multiply together
  • Scales better with higher base stats
Example with Ballad:
  • Base Attack Damage: 10
  • Ballad (3 stacks): +7.5%
  • Final Attack Damage: 10 × 1.075 = 10.75

Effect duration management

All Bard buff spells have the same cooldown (10 seconds) but different effect durations:
SpellEffect DurationCooldownUptime Potential
Troubadour’s Minuet10s10s100%
Magical Ballad8s10s80%
Army’s Paeon8s10s80%
Troubadour’s Minuet can achieve 100% uptime if cast on cooldown, making it excellent for sustained defensive support.
