All billing for My AskAI is handled through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payments processor. From the Stripe customer portal you can update your payment method, switch plans, download invoices, and manage your tax details — all without needing to contact support. This page walks you through the most common billing tasks and answers frequently asked questions.

Accessing Your Billing Portal

All billing tasks start from the same place:

Go to Account Settings

In your My AskAI dashboard, click Account Settings in the navigation.

Open the Billing Section

Select Billing from the settings menu to view your current plan, conversation usage, and overage costs.

Launch the Stripe Portal

Click “Manage subscription on Stripe” to open the full Stripe customer portal where you can make changes to your subscription, payment method, and tax details.

Common Billing Tasks

Changing Your Plan (Upgrade or Downgrade)

Open the Stripe Portal

Navigate to Account Settings → Billing and click “Manage subscription on Stripe”.

Update Your Plan

In Stripe, select the option to update your subscription and choose the new plan tier.

Confirm the Change

Upgrades take effect immediately (you’ll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing cycle). Downgrades apply at the start of the next billing period.

Updating Your Payment Card

Open the Stripe Portal

Go to Account Settings → Billing → “Manage subscription on Stripe”.

Edit Payment Method

Click the three-dot menu next to your current card, or click “Add payment method” to add a new card.

Set as Default

Once added, set the new card as the default payment method to ensure future invoices are charged to it.

Downloading Invoices

Open the Stripe Portal

Go to Account Settings → Billing → “Manage subscription on Stripe”.

Navigate to Invoice History

Scroll to the Invoice history section within Stripe.

Download

Click the download arrow next to the relevant invoice to save a PDF copy for your records.

Cancelling Your Subscription

To cancel your My AskAI subscription, email team@myaskai.com from the email address associated with your account. The team will process your cancellation and confirm once it is complete.
My AskAI is not affiliated with the Ask AI mobile app. If you are trying to cancel that product, please contact them directly — My AskAI cannot assist with their subscriptions.

Understanding Usage Costs (Flex Pricing)

My AskAI uses Flex pricing: your AI agent continues responding to customers even after your monthly conversation limit is reached. Overage charges are billed on the following month’s invoice (or upon cancellation).

Conversation credits are reset monthly on the same date you originally signed up — which may differ from your billing renewal date.
During your 30-day free trial, there is no conversation limit. Flex charges only begin on a paid plan.

Tax (VAT, GST, and Other)

AskAI Ltd is based in the UK and is required to charge UK VAT (20%) to:
  • All B2C (consumer) users globally
  • B2B users located in the UK
Businesses outside the UK may be exempt from VAT depending on their location and tax registration status.
At sign-up: Enter your Tax ID on the Stripe checkout screen before completing your first payment.After sign-up: If you are already a subscriber and need to update your Tax ID:
  1. Go to Account Settings → Billing → “Manage subscription on Stripe”
  2. Click “Update information”
  3. Click Tax ID and search for your country
  4. Enter your Tax ID and save your updated address
Once your Tax ID is verified, Stripe will apply the correct tax rate going forward.
Yes. If you have updated your Tax ID in Stripe and were previously charged tax in error, contact the team via chat and My AskAI will arrange a refund for the incorrectly charged tax.

Frequently Asked Questions

As My AskAI provides a 30-day free trial before any charge is made, refunds are not generally offered.Exceptions apply:
  • EU and UK customers may request a refund within 14 days of their first payment (not subsequent renewals) under applicable consumer protection laws.
  • Refunds in other circumstances are considered on a discretionary basis.
  • All refunds are net of any payment processing fees incurred.
Contact the team via chat if you believe you are entitled to a refund.
My AskAI offers 20% off all plans (excluding Enterprise) for registered charities, non-profits, and NGOs. Share proof of your charitable status via chat (a link to your website or charity register listing is sufficient) to claim the discount.No student discounts are currently available.
Annual billing options may be available on certain plans. Visit myaskai.com/pricing for current billing frequency options, or contact the team via chat to ask about annual pricing.

Your billing cycle renews on the same day of the month you originally subscribed. You can see your next renewal date in the Stripe customer portal under Account Settings → Billing → “Manage subscription on Stripe”.
