The AI assistant in Desktop mode is not a chatbot that happens to live on a launcher page. It is a system-level interface that can directly manipulate the desktop environment around you — opening and closing windows, installing apps, controlling the dock, and navigating settings — all in response to plain-language instructions. The closest analogy is a lightweight Jarvis: something you speak to in order to make things happen, rather than something you query for information and then act on yourself. In a platform as feature-rich as Crafted Gamz, having an assistant that can take direct action on the desktop turns what might otherwise be a complex multi-step workflow into a single natural-language command.Documentation Index

What the AI Can Do
The Desktop AI assistant has a broad set of capabilities that go well beyond conversation. It understands the state of your desktop environment and can act on it in real time. The following actions are supported:- List installed apps — Ask the assistant what apps you currently have installed, and it will return a summary of your full library without you needing to open the launcher.
- Retrieve apps available in the store — The assistant can query the App Store catalogue and tell you what is available to install, filtered by name or category if you ask.
- Install apps — The assistant can trigger an app installation from the store directly. You do not need to open the App Store, browse, or click through a detail page — the assistant handles the entire install flow.
- Open apps — Any installed app can be opened by name. The assistant will launch it as a window on the desktop surface immediately.
- Close and minimize windows — The assistant can close a running app entirely or minimize it to the dock on request, helping you clean up your workspace without reaching for the window controls.
- Pin and unpin apps — The assistant understands dock management. It can add an app to your dock or remove one, and the change takes effect instantly.
- Open settings or the App Store — Rather than hunting for the settings panel or the App Store icon, you can simply ask the assistant to open either one and it will appear as a window on the desktop.
Example Commands
The assistant accepts natural, conversational phrasing — you do not need to learn specific syntax. The following examples show the kind of commands it understands and what each one triggers.| What You Say | What Happens |
|---|---|
| ”What apps do I have installed?” | The assistant lists your full installed app library. |
| ”What games are in the App Store?” | The assistant queries the store and summarizes the available game apps. |
| ”Install Snake” | Snake is installed from the App Store and added to your launcher. |
| ”Open Spotify” | The Spotify app launches as a window on the desktop surface. |
| ”Install Snake and open it” | Snake is installed and then immediately opened — in a single command. |
| ”Close the settings window” | The settings window is closed. |
| ”Minimize Spotify” | The Spotify window is minimized to the dock. |
| ”Pin Spotify to the dock” | Spotify is added to your dock and will persist there between sessions. |
| ”Unpin Calculator from the dock” | Calculator is removed from the dock. |
| ”Open the App Store” | The App Store opens as a Desktop window. |
| ”Open settings” | The settings panel opens as a Desktop window. |
Opening the AI Assistant
The AI assistant in Desktop mode can be opened from the dock or from a dedicated button in the top bar. Once open, it appears as a window on the desktop surface — like any other Desktop mode app — so you can position it wherever is convenient and keep it open alongside other windows. It does not interrupt your workflow or take over the screen. You can type or (where supported) speak your commands, and the assistant responds in the same window while carrying out the requested action on the desktop around it.Open the AI Assistant
Click the AI assistant icon in the Desktop dock or top bar. The assistant opens as a window on the desktop surface. Position it wherever is most convenient — it can stay open alongside other windows.
Ask the Assistant to Install an App
Type something like “Install Snake” or “Add Spotify to my desktop.” The assistant will find the app in the store and install it immediately. You will see confirmation in the assistant window.
Ask the Assistant to Open the App
Follow up with “Open it” or “Open Snake.” The app will launch as a new window on the desktop surface. You do not need to navigate to the launcher or find the icon yourself.
The AI assistant in Desktop mode operates on the real, live desktop environment. When you ask it to open an app, that window appears on screen — not in a preview or sandbox. When you ask it to install something, the app is added to your launcher immediately. Actions are real and take effect the moment the assistant processes the command.
