Yeast ‘n Feast adds a variety of farmable crops, wild plants, berry bushes, and fruit trees to supplement Minecraft’s vanilla food system. Most ingredients feed directly into baked goods, jams, meads, and feast dishes, while a few serve as brewing reagents or cheese-making supplies. This page introduces the full ingredient catalogue; the sub-pages cover each category in depth.

Farmland crops

Plant these on tilled farmland. Each crop grows through four stages (age 0–3) and can be harvested at full maturity. Breaking the crop before it is fully grown drops only seeds; waiting for stage 3 drops both the ingredient and seeds for replanting.

GarlicGarlic (planted directly)Garlic + GarlicHerbal Cod, Garden Soup
Ginger and Garlic are planted directly from the item rather than a separate seed item, similar to vanilla potatoes or carrots.

Wild plants

These plants generate naturally in the world and can be picked up without farming. Wild variants of the core crops appear as flower-type blocks; breaking them drops their ingredient.

ThistleThistleRenewable — use Bone Meal on it to duplicate without destroying the plant
Thistle is a RenewablePlantBlock: right-clicking with Bone Meal drops a Thistle item while leaving the plant in place, making it a sustainable source.

Berry bushes and fruit trees

Berry bushes and fruit trees are found in the world rather than grown from seeds. Bushes grow through four age stages (0–3); right-click a fully mature bush to harvest berries and reset it to stage 1 so it regrows. Bone Meal can accelerate growth.

Berries & Fruits

Elderberry Bush, Rose Hips Bush, Hawthorn Tree, Lemon Tree, Maple Syrup, and Molasses — nutrition values and crafting uses.

Herbs & Spices

Mint, Ginger, Garlic, Barley, Rye — growing from seeds, wild variants, Thistle, and special ingredients like Milk Bottle and Rennet.

Obtaining yeast

Yeast is the starting point for the entire mod. The root advancement — Yeast ‘n Feast — instructs you to obtain Yeast from mushrooms. Once you have Yeast, you can craft a Keg and begin brewing mead.
The in-game advancement description reads: “Obtain Yeast from mushrooms.” Check your recipe viewer (JEI) for the exact crafting recipe, as it involves combining mushroom materials with your workbench.

Bulk storage

Each harvestable ingredient has a corresponding storage block for decorative or compact storage. These blocks share the wool-material properties of vanilla wool blocks.
  • Bag of Elderberries
  • Bag of Garlic
  • Bag of Ginger
  • Bag of Hawthorn Berries
  • Bag of Lemon
  • Bag of Mint
  • Bag of Rose Hips
  • Bag of Thistle
Barley Block and Rye Block behave like vanilla Hay Blocks — decorative compressed grain storage that can also be crafted back into individual grain items.
