Installing QuestCraft is a straightforward sideloading process — you download the APK from the official GitHub releases page and push it to your headset using SideQuest. The whole process typically takes under ten minutes, and once the app is on your device you’ll be ready to sign in and download the game files on first launch.
You must own a valid, legally purchased copy of Minecraft: Java Edition to use QuestCraft. An active internet connection is also required for the initial game-file download after installation.
questcraft.net is not the official QuestCraft website and is not affiliated with the QCXR development team. Do not download any files from that domain — it may distribute malware. The official site is questcraft.org and the only trusted download source is the official GitHub releases page.

Installation Steps

Download the QuestCraft APK

On your computer or Android device, go to the QuestCraft releases page and download the latest .apk file. Make sure you are on the official GitHub page — do not source the APK from any third-party site.

Set Up SideQuest and Connect Your Headset

If you haven’t already, follow the SideQuest setup guide to install SideQuest on your computer and enable Developer Mode on your headset. Connect your headset to your computer via USB and confirm the connection prompt inside the headset when prompted.

Sideload the APK

With your headset connected and recognised by SideQuest, drag and drop the downloaded .apk file into the SideQuest window. SideQuest will push the file to your headset automatically — wait for the installation confirmation before disconnecting.

Find QuestCraft on Your Headset

Disconnect the USB cable and put on your headset. Navigate to your app library and filter by Unknown Sources (on Meta Quest, tap the dropdown at the top-right of the Apps panel and select Unknown Sources). QuestCraft will appear there — tap it to launch.
When QuestCraft opens for the first time, it will request several system permissions. Grant all of them — these permissions are needed for the game files to download correctly and for the launcher to function. Denying any permission may cause issues during the first-launch setup.
