Recommended Settings
Work through these steps in order when setting up QuestCraft for the first time or after installing a new version.Lower the stereo rendering resolution
Open the in-game Options menu, navigate to VR Settings → Stereo Rendering, and set the resolution slider to 80%. Make sure you are adjusting the general resolution and not the camera resolution — they are separate sliders. This single change provides a meaningful performance boost with only a modest reduction in perceived sharpness inside the headset.
Set an appropriate render distance
In Options → Video Settings, set Render Distance to between 4 and 6 chunks for the best balance of visual range and frame rate. Values in this range give you enough visibility for normal gameplay while keeping the GPU load well within what the headset hardware can sustain. You may still encounter occasional lag spikes at 6 chunks; dropping to 4 eliminates most of them.
Choose a performance-friendly world type
When creating or selecting a world, prefer Skyblock or Oneblock maps if you want the highest possible frame rate. These world types generate very little terrain, which dramatically reduces the number of chunks the game needs to load and render at any given time. Standard overworld generation is playable but works best at the lower end of the recommended render distance range.

Pre-Installed Optimization Mods
QuestCraft ships with a curated set of optimization mods baked into every installation. These mods handle the heavy lifting — things like faster chunk rendering, reduced memory overhead, and improved frame pacing — so you do not need to go hunting for performance mods yourself.All pre-installed mods can be toggled on and off inside a new instance — with the exception of Vivecraft and Fabric API, which are required for the game to run. Avoid disabling optimization mods unless you have a specific reason and understand the performance trade-off. Re-enabling them is always an option if you notice a drop in frame rate.
