QuestCraft is a standalone port of Minecraft: Java Edition to Meta Quest and other standalone VR headsets — no PC required. Built and maintained by the QCXR team, it combines Vivecraft for immersive VR controls with Pojlib, a launcher library derived from PojavLauncher, to bring the full Java Edition experience directly to your headset. Over the past year, a core team of three main developers alongside eleven third-party contributors have made it possible to play the bestselling game in full roomscale VR without any PC or streaming required.

How It Works

QuestCraft layers two key technologies together. Pojlib handles the Android-side launcher and runtime, making it possible to run Minecraft: Java Edition on mobile hardware. Vivecraft provides the VR integration layer — translating headset orientation, hand tracking, and controller input into natural, immersive Minecraft gameplay. On top of this, a Unity-based launcher wrapper (QCXR-XR-Wrapper) provides the front-end interface you interact with on your headset.

Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have the following:
  • A valid Minecraft: Java Edition licence — you must own a legal copy of the game.
  • An internet connection — required for the initial file download during first launch.
  • A compatible headset — Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Pico Neo 3, Pico 4, Pico 4u, or another supported standalone HMD.
QuestCraft does not include or distribute Minecraft. You must own a legitimate, purchased copy of Minecraft: Java Edition and sign in with your Microsoft account to play. Using QuestCraft does not bypass this requirement.
questcraft.net is not owned or maintained by the QuestCraft team. The QCXR team has no control over that domain and it may serve malware at any time. Always use the official website at questcraft.org and download releases only from the official GitHub.

Open Source Subprojects

QuestCraft is open source, with each component living in its own repository:
  • Pojlib — the launcher library that runs Minecraft: Java Edition on Android.
  • QCXR-XR-Wrapper — the Unity-based launcher wrapper and front-end environment.
Community support is available in the QuestCraft Discord. For confirmed bugs, open an issue on GitHub.
