The search bar is available at the top of the main screen. Results filter in real time as you type — no need to press Enter or tap a search button.

How search works

Search matches across three fields on every cut point record:
  • Brand (marca)
  • Model (modelo)
  • Applicable versions (versionesAplicables)
Every word you type must appear somewhere in that combined text. A query like Toyota Corolla only returns records where both toyota and corolla appear — partial matches on individual words are supported.

Year range matching

If your query contains a four-digit number between 1900 and 2100, GPSpedia treats it as a year filter. Instead of looking for the literal digit string in the vehicle name, it checks whether that year falls within the record’s anoDesdeanoHasta range. Example: Typing 2021 returns all vehicles whose year range includes 2021 — even if the record covers 2018–2023. Year detection is combined with text matching. A query like Toyota 2020 finds all Toyota records where 2020 is within the covered year range.
Year detection only activates for four-digit numbers in the range 1900–2100. Numbers outside that range are treated as plain text.

Brand detection

When your search query matches records from exactly one brand, the results switch to the brand card view — the same view you would see by navigating Categories → Brand. This makes it easy to browse all models from a brand without navigating the full hierarchy.

Smart de-duplication

Search results show one card per unique model + version combination. If multiple year-range records exist for the same model and version, they are grouped into a single card. Tapping that card takes you to the year selection screen. Tap the X button in the search bar to clear your query. The view returns to the home screen with the full category and brand carousels.
If your search returns exactly one result, the cut point detail modal opens immediately — you skip the intermediate navigation screens entirely.

Search tips

Type just the brand name (for example, Honda) to see all Honda models available in the catalog. If Honda is the only brand in the results, the brand card view loads automatically.
You can combine all three in a single query: Honda Civic 2019. The search applies both the text filter (brand + model) and the year range filter simultaneously.
Each word in your query is checked as a substring. Typing Cor matches Corolla, Corsa, and any other model containing those letters. Add more characters to narrow the results.
